Baptism is a simple ceremony of washing in water, practised by Christians since the time of Jesus.
Some will decide they would like to belong to the Church. We do this formally through Baptism.
Parents are welcome to bring their infants to Baptism (sometimes called Christening) and encourage and support them until they are old enough to make their own response.
We welcome you to contact Fr Simon Rectory 83239744, or Fr Peter 0419 803 630 to discuss Baptism for yourself or your child
What is Confirmation and how do we “become” confirmed?
Confirmation is one of the Sacraments of the Church. When we are confirmed we affirm our faith in God and our desire to serve him all our lives. We take upon ourselves the promises made by our parents and godparents if we were baptised as young children.
The Bishop lays his hands on our heads and prays that God’s Holy Spirit will strengthen and guide us.
We welcome you to contact Fr Simon Rectory 83239744, or Fr Peter 0419 803 630 to discuss Confirmation and answer any questions you may have.
Our churches are welcoming and reverent places for the exchange of wedding vows.
Our clergy are licensed to perform the Church’s ceremonies and are also authorised Commonwealth Marriage Celebrants. They are willing to assist with your legal, practical and spiritual requirements.
You will need to allow time (at least three months) to make the necessary preparations, to complete the legal requirements and plan details of the Service.
Please, always check the church and clergy availability before making other bookings, for a reception venue, cars, photos, etc.
For more information and to discuss your wedding plans further, please contact Fr Simon Rectory (08) 8323 9744, Fr Peter 0419 803 630 or Office 0487 420 653.
The churches of the Pastoral District of Southern Vales are available for funerals.
They provide an ideal peaceful and unhurried setting for saying farewell to loved ones.
It is always necessary to confirm time and availability of the church and clergy in advance, before any other arrangements are put in place.
Our Clergy are often willing to take Services at Funeral Directors’ premises, Crematorium Chapels and Cemeteries.
There is also a form of prayer (Committal) which is used at the graveside or when ashes are committed to the ground (interred).
There are several Anglican cemeteries and places for the interment of ashes at the churches of our Pastoral District.
For more information and to discuss your funeral requirements further please contact Fr Simon Rectory (08) 8323 9744, Fr Peter 0419 803 630 or Office 0487 420 653 .
